Cable Hardware

Cable hardware includes accessories such as clips, thimbles, turnbuckles, shackles, snap hooks, carabiners, eyebolts, nuts, and other components used to attach, tension, guide, or support wire rope and cable assemblies.

Cable clamps are useful for temporary, adjustable, or field-assembled terminations. They are more forgiving to install but are larger and depend on correct torque. Swaged fittings are machine-pressed onto the cable to create compact, permanent terminations that are ideal for production assemblies and critical applications. For most OEM designs, swaged terminations are preferred.

Turnbuckles and tensioners allow you to adjust cable tension after installation. By tightening or loosening the hardware, you can bring cables up to the correct tension, compensate for stretch over time, and fine-tune the alignment of your system.

Material options include Galvanized and stainless steel cable, and choosing depends on the applications environment. Galvanized hardware offers a good balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and cost for many indoor and general outdoor applications. Stainless steel hardware provides excellent corrosion resistance and is typically the better choice for marine, coastal, chemical, or high-moisture environments. Using hardware that matches your cable and environment will help extend service life.
